Estimates and Quotes
Print a price quote without completing a sale — useful for phone inquiries and show tables.

Step-by-step instructions
1 Open NumisNexus or Sales Checkout
For inventory-based quotes, open Apps → Sales Checkout. For preset-based appraisals at a coin show, open Apps → NumisNexus.2 Build the cart like a normal sale
Search or scan every item the customer is asking about. Add each to the cart with the price you would charge. Include all items even if they are only considering some of them.3 Add notes if helpful
In NumisNexus, use the notes field to record the customer name, phone number, or show venue. Notes appear on the printed estimate for your reference.4 Click Finalize Sale
Click Finalize Sale at the bottom of the cart. The payment panel opens — do not enter payment information yet.5 Check Estimate/Quote
Under receipt options, check the box labeled Estimate/Quote. Leave payment method unset — you are not collecting money.6 Do not click Complete Sale
Instead of completing the sale, click Print Estimate or Save as Estimate (button label varies). The document prints with a disclaimer that it is not a binding agreement.7 Review the printed estimate
The estimate shows item descriptions, prices, subtotal, and your consultation fee (if configured in POS Config → Estimate Hourly Rate). The header reads NOT A SALE OR BINDING AGREEMENT.
Estimate prints from the finalize panel without completing payment. 8 Hand the estimate to the customer
Give the printed estimate to the customer. No inventory is removed and no payment is recorded. When they return to buy, start a fresh sale and complete it normally.9 Set your consultation rate
If the consultation line is missing or wrong, open Configuration → Point of Sale Config. Scroll to NumisNexus Settings → Estimate Hourly Rate. Type your hourly fee and click Save.
