Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1 Build the cart first

In Apps → Sales Checkout, scan barcodes or search to add every item the customer is buying. Do not click Finalize until the cart is complete.
  2. 2 Review every line item

Read each line in the cart: correct item, correct quantity, correct price. Click the trash icon on any line to remove mistakes. Click a price to adjust if you negotiated a discount.
  3. 3 Check the subtotal and tax

Below the line items, you will see Subtotal and Tax lines. Confirm the tax amount matches your configured rate from POS Config.
  4. 4 Click Finalize Sale

Click the large Finalize Sale button at the bottom of the cart. The payment panel slides open on the right side of the screen.

  5. 5 Select payment method

Click Cash, Check, or Credit/Debit. The selected button highlights. Only methods you enabled in POS Config appear here.
  6. 6 Enter cash tendered

For cash sales, click the box labeled amount tendered (or amount received). Type how much cash the customer handed you — for example, type 50 on a $37.50 sale. The change due calculates automatically below.
  7. 7 Choose receipt options

Check Customer Receipt to print a receipt for the buyer. Store Copy may print automatically depending on your POS Config. Uncheck Estimate/Quote unless this is a quote, not a sale.
  8. 8 Click Complete Sale

Click the Complete Sale button. A brief confirmation appears. Inventory quantities update immediately — the sold items are no longer available for other sales.
  9. 9 Print the receipt

Your browser opens a print dialog. Select your thermal receipt printer and click Print. Hand the receipt to the customer with their change.
  10. 10 Cart clears for next customer

The checkout screen returns to an empty cart with the search bar ready. The sale is recorded in Point of Sale → Transactions and attributed to your staff login.
