Receipt Printer Setup

Connect a thermal receipt printer so customer and store-copy receipts print automatically.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1 Connect the printer physically

    Plug your USB thermal printer into the register PC, or connect it to your shop network if it is an Ethernet model. Load 80mm thermal paper. Power on the printer — the status light should be solid green.
  2. 2 Install printer drivers on the register PC

    On the Windows or Mac computer at your counter, download and install the manufacturer driver (Star Micronics, Epson TM-series, etc.). Print a test page from Windows/Mac settings to confirm the PC sees the printer before configuring SpotPro.
  3. 3 Open POS Config

    In SpotPro, click Configuration → Point of Sale Config in the left sidebar.
  4. 4 Scroll to Receipt Printer

    Scroll to the Hardware or Receipt Printer section. You will see a dropdown listing printers detected by your browser or operating system.
  5. 5 Select your printer

    Click the printer dropdown and choose your thermal printer by name. If the list is empty, the driver is not installed — go back to step 2.
  6. 6 Click Test Print

    Click the Test Print button. Your browser will open a print dialog — select your thermal printer and click Print. You should get a short test slip with sample text.
  7. 7 Configure receipt content

    Scroll to Receipt Settings (may be above or below the printer section). Turn on your logo, type a footer message, and choose which receipt types auto-print: Customer Receipt and Store Copy.
  8. 8 Set Buy Receipt Terms

    Scroll to Buy Receipt Terms. Type the legal disclaimer or thank-you text that prints at the bottom of NumisNexus purchase receipts. Click Save.
  9. 9 Set as default printer in the browser

    In Chrome, click the menu Print on any receipt preview. Set your thermal printer as the default so future receipts print without extra clicks.
  10. 10 Run a live receipt test

    Open Apps → NumisNexus, add a test preset line, and click Finalize & Print Receipt. Confirm the customer receipt and Store Copy both print with your logo and footer text.
