SMS Subscribers & Text Blasts

Build a subscriber list and send spot-price or show announcements via text.

Manage Subscribers → Opens your members area in a new tab

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1 Create a Twilio account

Go to twilio.com and sign up for a Twilio account if you do not have one. Twilio bills you directly for SMS usage — SpotPro does not mark up text costs.
  2. 2 Buy a sending phone number

In the Twilio console, click Phone Numbers → Buy a Number. Choose a local number in your area code. This is the number your text blasts come from.
  3. 3 Copy Twilio credentials

On the Twilio dashboard, copy your Account SID and Auth Token. Also note your purchased sending phone number in E.164 format (e.g. +15551234567).
  4. 4 Open SMS Messaging settings

In SpotPro, click Configuration → TEXT (SMS) Messaging in the left sidebar. The messaging config page loads with fields for your Twilio credentials.
  5. 5 Paste Account SID

Click the box labeled Account SID. Paste your Twilio Account SID exactly as shown in the Twilio console.
  6. 6 Paste Auth Token

Click the box labeled Auth Token. Paste your Twilio Auth Token. Keep this secret — do not share it with staff.
  7. 7 Enter your sending number

Type your Twilio phone number in the sending number field, including the country code (e.g. +15551234567).
  8. 8 Click Save

Scroll to the bottom and click Save. SpotPro tests the connection. You will see a green confirmation if credentials are valid.
  9. 9 Display the QR signup link

On the messaging config page or Web Designer Tools, copy your subscriber signup QR code or link. Print the QR and display it at your counter so customers can opt in with their phone number.
  10. 10 Manage your subscriber list

Click Messaging → Manage Subscribers in the sidebar. You will see every customer who opted in. Search, export, or remove subscribers from this page.
  11. 11 Send your first blast

Click Messaging → Send Notifications. Write a short message, review the recipient count, and click Send. See Send a Text Notification for details.
