Step-by-step instructions
1 The printer
We recommend a 2-inch Zebra desktop printer (direct thermal). Buy the ZD411 (ZD4A022-D01M00EZ) or the ZD611 (ZD6A022-D01E00EZ). Plug it into a PC with a USB cable. Wi-Fi is not included. It is a separate module if you want wireless later. Most shops stay on USB.
ZD411 (ZD4A022-D01M00EZ). The ZD611 (ZD6A022-D01E00EZ) is the same 2-inch job. 2 The labels
Order OnlineLabels RL2056RD: 1.5" × 0.5", removable direct thermal, 2,480 labels per roll, 1" core / 4" outer. Use the removable version so the sticker comes off a flip or slab without tearing. Do not use permanent shipping labels on coins.3 Sensor slider — middle of unmarked labels
The yellow slider under the labels aims the sensor. That slider is for the black mark on marked labels (park it at the mark, usually near the edge). RL2056RD is regular unmarked stock — no black mark, just a gap. Set the slider in the middle of the labels (center of its travel — Zebra’s default gap position). If it sits at the edge, calibration and print will skip or wander.
Zebra ZD411D user guide. Unmarked / gap labels use the default sensor position in the middle of the slider. The edge is for black-mark labels. 4 Load the roll, then calibrate first
After the labels are in and the lid is closed, calibrate before you print a real batch. The printer has to learn the gap between labels. If you skip this, it will skip stickers or print off the label. On a PC with USB, open Zebra Setup Utilities and run media calibration. Or use the calibrate sequence in the ZD411 / ZD611 manual. The printer will feed a few blank labels. Calibrate again whenever you put on a new roll.5 First time you print: pick the printer and a 1.5 × 0.5 paper size
The first time the print preview / print dialog opens on a computer, select this Zebra printer, then set the media / paper size. You will probably need to create a custom size of 1.5" × 0.5" and then select that size. After you do this once, you should not have to do it again unless you change label size.6 Set the size in SpotPro
Go to Labels → Design Your Labels. Set width 1.50" (across the print head) and height 0.50" (feed direction). There is a 1.5×0.5 preset. Print one test label at 100% / Actual size before a batch.7 Print from inventory
Print one-off labels from Current Inventory or a batch from Labels → Mass Reprint Labels (Shelf / thermal). SpotPro does not sell the printer or the rolls — buy them from Zebra / a reseller and from OnlineLabels.
