IRS cash and metals reporting — what SpotPro does not auto-flag

SpotPro does not pop an IRS warning when a buy or sale hits a federal cash or precious-metals reporting line. Pull cash and totals from reports for your accountant.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1 The short answer

SpotPro does not auto-warn at Sales Checkout or NumisNexus when a buy or sale might hit an IRS cash or precious-metals reporting line. There is no Form 8300 or 1099-B trigger built into the register. That is a shop-policy and accountant job — not something the software files for you.
  2. 2 Do not mix this up with other alerts

Two other tools sound similar and are not IRS filing. High-value order alert under Shop setup → Payments & risk flags large ExtraCoins web carts for fraud review. Purchase holds (Reports → Purchase holds) are optional waiting periods after public buys — scrap / secondhand style, not tax forms. See Purchase holds.
  3. 3 Pull cash vs card totals

Open Reports → POS Reports. Click the Payment Methods tab (or Go to → search “IRS” or “cash reporting”). Pick a date range. You get cash, card, check, and Zelle totals for counter sales in that period — the usual starting point for cash-reporting questions.
  4. 4 Line-by-line sales and buys

Open Reports → Transactions. Filter by date and by sales or buys. Click a row for the full ticket. NumisNexus store copies also keep what you paid on each public buy.
  5. 5 Give your bookkeeper the pack

On POS Reports open the Accounting / QB tab. Download the sales journal and purchases CSVs for the date range. Your accountant uses those files — SpotPro is not a live tax-filing product.

  6. 6 Keep names on the buy

When you buy from a walk-in in Counter → NumisNexus, finalize so you have a Store Copy with the lines and total. Put the seller name on that ticket the way your shop already does. SpotPro will not decide which federal form applies.
